XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Volkswagen CORRADO G60 1988-1995

Take a Corrado G60 onto a loose gravel stage and its road-tuned struts run out of travel almost immediately, packing down over ruts and leaving the front axle skating wide. This XYZ Racing Gravel Rally coilover kit is built for exactly that environment: long-travel damping that keeps a supercharged G-Lader VW planted once the surface stops being tarmac.

These are not a lowering kit dressed up for stage use. The Gravel Rally coilovers for the Volkswagen Corrado G60 1988-1995 run a long-stroke, long-spring layout designed to soak up the violent vertical inputs of a sandstone, snow or silt special stage while still controlling a nose-heavy front-drive chassis through fast direction changes.

What this coilover kit does for your 1988-1995 Volkswagen Corrado G60

On the Corrado’s Golf-derived platform, the biggest gain is composure over broken ground. The extended stroke lets each wheel follow compressions and crests instead of bouncing off them, so the front tyres keep finding grip where a shorter road damper would unload and push the car straight on. The inverted-tube construction puts the larger, stiffer body at the top of the strut, cutting flex and giving steering inputs a more immediate response when you commit to a corner under load. Spring rates are set for the loads a rally car actually sees, so the car rides up on its travel and works rather than crashing through it. The result is a Corrado G60 you can drive hard on gravel without the chassis fighting you over every ridge.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

The Gravel Rally series is developed specifically for rally and rallycross, where XYZ Racing treats the loose-surface stage as the most punishing test a damper faces. The inverted-tube design sits at the core of it, chosen so the unit can be valved for the wildly different demands of sandstone, snow and silt without losing control authority. Long stroke and a correspondingly long spring let the suspension absorb chassis vibration and attack high-speed, bouncy surfaces that would overwhelm a road or circuit setup, while still holding the car against the lateral G-force generated in quick turns. Every spring rate in the kit has been validated by XYZ Racing’s rally team rather than pulled from a catalogue, so the baseline tune reflects genuine stage use on a front-wheel-drive platform like the G60.

Fitment for the Volkswagen Corrado G60 (1988-1995)

This kit is matched to the Volkswagen Corrado G60 chassis across the full 1988 to 1995 production run, covering the supercharged G-Lader cars on the original platform. It locates to the standard front strut and rear mounting points of the G60, fitting the car as a complete corner-by-corner coilover set.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.
