XYZ Racing Racing Spec Coilovers — Volkswagen CORRADO G60 1988-1995

The Corrado G60 carries its G-Lader supercharged 1.8 ahead of the front axle, and on a circuit that weight bias shows up as early understeer and a nose that loads up hard under braking. The XYZ Racing Racing Spec coilover is built to take that out of the equation – a track and time-attack damper whose valving traces directly back to XYZ Racing’s own WTCC programme.

This is the hard end of the range. Where a fast-road kit chases ride quality, the Racing Spec set for the 1988-1995 Corrado G60 is tuned for control under sustained load: a flat body, a settled front axle on turn-in, and damping that keeps the contact patch working through long, repeated sessions.

What this coilover does for your 1988-1995 Volkswagen Corrado G60

Height adjustment lets you drop the centre of gravity and set corner balance, which sharpens turn-in on a chassis that leans on its front tyres harder than most. The firmer, motorsport-derived rates curb the body roll that masks what the front axle is doing, so you can carry more speed into a corner and trust the brakes deeper. On the move you feel a flatter, more planted car that holds its line rather than washing wide. Over a full track day the payoff is consistency – the damping resists fade as fluid temperatures climb, so the car’s balance stays predictable deep into a session.

About the Racing Spec coilover

The Racing Spec sits at the top of XYZ Racing’s coilover hierarchy, developed specifically for circuit racing rather than adapted from a road product. Its damper settings were not arrived at on a bench alone – they come from XYZ Racing’s direct involvement in competition, including the World Touring Car Championship, where the valving had to survive the demands of wheel-to-wheel racing. That competition pedigree is the point of the kit: it is built for serious track and time-attack use, where repeatable damping matters more than plush low-speed compliance. For cars taken further than a typical fast-road build – heavily modified Corrados, or cars closer to a factory racer or A-class race-car specification – XYZ Racing can supply custom-valved shock absorbers matched to your exact setup. Provide the details of your upgrades and the circuits you run, and the dampers can be built to that brief rather than to a generic average.

Fitment for the Volkswagen Corrado G60 (1988-1995)

This coilover is specified for the Volkswagen Corrado G60, covering the G60 chassis across its full 1988 to 1995 production run. The Corrado was sold in both G60 supercharged and later VR6 forms, so check that yours is the G60 variant before configuring, since the two cars do not share the same suspension setup.
