XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Seat TOLEDO 1L 1991-1999

The 1L Toledo rides on the Volkswagen A-platform it shares with the Mk3 Golf and Vento, and that means MacPherson struts up front, a torsion-beam rear, and factory damping calibrated for comfortable tarmac, never for a loose stage. Drop the same Giugiaro-bodied saloon onto gravel and the standard struts run out of travel and rebound control almost immediately, letting the inside-front wheel go light and the nose wash wide.

The XYZ Racing Gravel Rally coilover is built for exactly that environment: gravel-stage rally and rallycross, where the surface punishes a shock harder than any circuit. This is a long-travel, long-spring setup designed to keep a front-drive Toledo planted when the road underneath turns to sandstone, snow or silt.

What this coilover kit does for your 1991-1999 Seat Toledo 1L

On a loose surface the gain is immediate. The long stroke lets the suspension soak up ruts and high-speed crests that would bottom a road damper, so the front axle stays in contact and keeps steering. Longer springs hold the chassis composed through the big compression hits, while the damping is tuned to control rebound so the inside-front stays loaded mid-corner rather than unweighting and pushing the nose straight on. The result is a Toledo 1L you can attack a bumpy stage with at speed instead of nursing over every yump and stone.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

This damper is engineered specifically for rally and rallycross, the discipline where road conditions are the most aggressive in motorsport and the shock absorber becomes the single most important component on the car. XYZ Racing uses an inverted-tube design to handle the full spread of stage surfaces, from sandstone and silt to snow. The combination of long stroke and long spring is what allows the suspension to absorb chassis vibration, attack high-speed bouncy sections, and carry the extreme cornering G-loads a stage car generates without running out of travel. Every spring-rate setting in the kit has been validated by XYZ Racing’s own rally competition team rather than chosen from a catalogue, so the baseline is a working stage spec.

Fitment for the Seat Toledo 1L (1991-1999)

This kit is built for the first-generation Seat Toledo, chassis code 1L, across the full 1991-1999 production run. It fits the front MacPherson-strut and rear torsion-beam layout of the A-platform car. Confirm your chassis code reads 1L before ordering to be certain of the correct strut and spring fitment.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.
