XYZ Racing Racing Spec Coilovers — Seat CORDOBA 6K-C 1993-1998

The Cordoba 6K-C is a featherweight front-driver riding on MacPherson struts up front and a torsion-beam rear axle – a layout that rewards low mass and exposes a soft factory damper the moment you load it into a fast corner. The XYZ Racing Racing Spec coilover is built for owners taking a 6K-C onto a circuit and asking it to hold a line through repeated sessions, not just sit pretty on a Sunday.

This is the firmest, most track-focused tier in the XYZ Racing range, with damper settings drawn from the company’s own touring-car work. For time-attack and serious track use in a lightweight Seat saloon, it gives you the control to place the car exactly where you want it and keep it there as the tyres come up to temperature and the session wears on.

What this coilover does for your 1993-1998 Seat Cordoba 6K-C

Fit the Racing Spec to your 1993-1998 Seat Cordoba 6K-C and the first thing you notice is body control. The standard car leans hard and runs short of damping support under load; the Racing Spec’s stiffer rates and track-oriented valving keep the chassis flat through quick direction changes and hold the front tyres planted under trail-braking. Ride height is fully adjustable, so you can drop the centre of gravity and correct the slightly nose-up stance these saloons carry. On a light front-driver like this, that sharpens turn-in and lets the torsion-beam rear follow cleanly rather than washing wide. The trade is a firm road manner – this is a circuit damper first, and it behaves like one.

About the Racing Spec coilover

The Racing Spec sits at the sharp end of the XYZ Racing coilover line, developed specifically for track and race use. Its damping settings were not arrived at on a dyno alone – they come from XYZ Racing’s direct participation in competition, including WTCC touring-car running, then carried across into the road-going kits. For cars with heavier modifications – aggressive aero, big power, or full A-class race builds – XYZ Racing will produce bespoke shock absorbers to suit. You supply the detail on your upgraded components and the circuits you intend to run, and the dampers are specified around that package and that exact car. For a standard-to-modified 6K-C the off-the-shelf Racing Spec valving is the starting point; the custom route exists for builds that have outgrown it.
