XYZ Racing Circuit Master Coilovers — Nissan SKYLINE R33 GTST 1995-1998

The R33 GTST arrived longer, wider, and heavier than the R32 it replaced – a car that carried the RB25DET’s considerable inline-six mass well ahead of the centre line. Factory suspension was tuned for the grand touring mission the name implies, and it shows when you push the chassis hard: understeer builds progressively as speed rises, and the sophisticated multi-link rear end never gets the chassis feedback it deserves through softly sprung bushings and a damper tune calibrated for Autobahn composure rather than circuit communication.

The Circuit Master coilover exists to address exactly that. Designed for sustained circuit lap-time work, this kit replaces the factory struts and springs with a fully adjustable system that gives the GTST chassis the signals it was always capable of reading.

What this coilover does for your 1995-1998 Nissan SKYLINE R33 GTST

With 9,720 individual damping combinations available across three adjustment knobs, you can tune the front-rear balance to counter the GTST’s inherent nose-heavy bias – running firmer front rebound to resist that progressive push while retaining enough rear compliance to load the outside tyre through high-speed corners. Height adjustability lets you reduce the R33’s relatively tall factory stance, bringing the centre of gravity down and sharpening the turn-in response that stock springs blunt. The small oil-hole damper valve tracks the R33’s multi-link rear geometry faithfully under sustained load, where a conventional valve-shimmed twin-tube will start to fade mid-session rather than hold its tune.

About the Circuit Master coilover

The Circuit Master is XYZ Racing’s competition-specification range, developed alongside the brand’s Racing Spec, Drift Spec, and Tarmac Rally variants and validated by XYZ racing teams on international circuits over an extended test programme. The key engineering choice is the small oil-hole valve design: damper oil travels through a narrow passage, which produces a more consistent and precisely controlled response at sustained speed. A side effect is occasional noise over large road impacts – that behaviour is inherent to the design and not a fault. Three adjustment knobs give access to 9,720 distinct settings across compression and rebound axes, covering everything from aggressive time-attack trim to the more graduated setup that holds consistent performance across a longer endurance stint. This is XYZ Racing’s range for drivers who use a circuit as their primary reference point.

Fitment for the Nissan SKYLINE R33 GTST (1995-1998)

This kit is coded to chassis NI38, covering the rear-wheel-drive R33 GTST with RB25DET power across the full 1995-1998 production run. Confirm your car is the GTST variant before ordering – the all-wheel-drive GT-R runs different strut dimensions and is not covered by this fitment.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
