XYZ Racing Racing Spec Coilovers — Nissan MAXIMA A35 2008-2014

The A35 Maxima’s VQ35DE V6 and front-wheel drive layout create a specific dynamic problem at circuit pace: the front axle handles steering, drive, and the majority of braking load simultaneously. Nissan positioned the A35 as a sports sedan, but the factory suspension was calibrated for grand-touring refinement, not for the thermal and structural demands of sustained circuit sessions. The Racing Spec coilover kit was developed from the opposite starting point.

On a standard A35, sustained track use quickly exposes how much body roll the stock spring rates allow, and how that roll unloads the outer front tyre precisely when you need grip. This kit addresses that directly.

What this coilover does for your 2008-2014 Nissan MAXIMA A35

Adjustable damping lets the driver calibrate front-axle compliance to match tyre compound and circuit demands, rather than accepting the Maxima’s factory touring-car compromise. Under heavy braking, reduced nose dive sharpens the steering response at corner entry – significant on a car of this size and kerb weight. Mid-corner, stiffer spring rates keep the body flatter through sustained direction changes, maintaining more consistent contact across the front contact patches. At the exit, where the VQ35DE’s torque would ordinarily promote front-axle push through the driven wheels, better-controlled weight transfer allows the driver to get on power earlier and with more confidence.

About the Racing Spec coilover

XYZ Racing’s Racing Spec dampers are developed specifically for track and time-attack use, with settings drawn from direct participation in motorsport events including the WTCC. The valve stacks and spring rates originate from circuit data rather than being adapted from road-going baselines, which gives the hardware a practical provenance that most catalogue coilovers cannot claim. For Maximas carrying aggressive mechanical upgrades – extensive engine work, race-specification brakes, wide-body aero additions – XYZ Racing offer bespoke shock absorbers built to a detailed owner brief: supply an itemised list of upgraded components and the circuit you intend to run, and a custom damper is available to that exact specification. That degree of customisation is uncommon in catalogue suspension and makes the Racing Spec viable for anything from a clean time-attack A35 to a car competing in a dedicated racing class.

Fitment for the Nissan MAXIMA A35 (2008-2014)

This kit is built for the A35-chassis seventh-generation Maxima, covering the 2008 to 2014 model year span. The A35 chassis code identifies this platform specifically – verify before ordering if your car carries non-standard front suspension geometry or has modified strut tower mounting points.

  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.
  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
