XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Maserati Quattroporte M139 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2003-2012

The M139 Quattroporte was sold as a saloon that drove like a coupé, and the Skyhook electronic damping was central to that pitch – until the modules started failing and replacement costs began rivalling the value of the car. The XYZ Racing Gravel Rally coilover for the Maserati Quattroporte M139 ships with the cancellation harness needed to retire that system cleanly and put a fully mechanical, height-adjustable platform underneath a 1,930kg luxury saloon.

Gravel Rally spec is the loose-surface end of the XYZ range, built around longer stroke, softer initial damping and the kind of compliance that keeps a heavy front-engined car settled when the road stops being smooth. On a Quattroporte that means broken B-roads, unsurfaced estate driveways and the kind of UK tarmac that punishes anything set up purely for circuit work.

What this coilover does for your 2003-2012 Maserati Quattroporte M139 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping)

Cancelling Skyhook removes the dashboard fault light and the ongoing risk of a £2,000-plus module replacement, then hands damping control back to you through 30 clicks of bump and rebound adjustment per corner. Ride height is fully threaded at each corner, so the M139’s slightly nose-heavy stance can be levelled without resorting to spacer stacks. Spring rates are matched to a heavy front-engined saloon, which means the front axle stays composed under the 4.2 or 4.7 V8’s weight transfer instead of pitching forward on trail-braking. On poorer surfaces the longer-travel damping keeps the tyre loaded rather than skipping, which is the single biggest handling gain over a worn factory Skyhook strut.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

Gravel Rally is XYZ’s loose-surface tune within their full-bodied coilover family. Each unit is a twin-tube damper running on pillowball top mounts, with 30-position adjustment that alters bump and rebound together on a single knob – simple to use, hard to lose your baseline. Spring rates are softer than the Circuit or Tarmac Rally specs and stroke is longer, which is what gives the kit its compliance on broken surfaces. The cancellation harness in this part number replaces the Skyhook electronic signal so the car’s ECU no longer expects a variable damper, eliminating the warning light that normally follows any conversion away from the factory system. Bodies are CNC-machined and the threads run the full length, so corner-balancing is a straightforward shop job rather than a fight.

Fitment for the Maserati Quattroporte M139 (2003-2012)

This kit is specific to the M139 Quattroporte saloon built between 2003 and 2012, covering both the early 4.2 V8 cars and the later 4.7 Sport GT S variants. The cancellation harness is included as part of the package, so no separate Skyhook delete module is needed. Confirm your car was originally specified with Skyhook electronic damping before ordering.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.
