XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Hyundai VENUE QX 2020-2026

Sealed-stage tarmac asks a small crossover to do things it was never signed off for: late braking into a third-gear hairpin, full-throttle exits over patched-up Tarmac, and kerb strikes that would unsettle a chassis twice the Venue’s weight. The QX rides tall, carries its mass high, and runs a torsion-beam rear that loves to lift the inside wheel under provocation. This Tarmac Rally coilover is built specifically to keep that body flat, that inside wheel loaded, and the front tyres biting through every surface change a closed stage throws at it.

Where a fast-road kit would run out of damper authority by the second kilometre, the Tarmac Rally spec keeps composure when the bumps stack up. XYZ developed the settings on real rally stages, and the damper is engineered to swallow sudden vertical inputs – kerbs, patched joints, off-camber compressions – without pitching the QX off its line.

What this coilover does for your 2020-2026 Hyundai Venue QX

The first thing you feel is how much earlier the front axle takes a bite. With a stiffer, properly damped front, the Venue’s nose stops pushing wide on turn-in and starts rotating on throttle rather than fighting it. Body roll drops sharply, which is the single biggest gain on a tall, short-wheelbase crossover – the QX feels planted rather than perched.

Over compressions and broken Tarmac the damping absorbs the jolt rather than transmitting it through the chassis, so the rear stays settled instead of skipping sideways mid-corner. Traction off slow corners improves noticeably because the inside rear is loaded for longer. And because this is rally-specification damping rather than a stiff track setup, the QX remains drivable on the road sections between stages without rattling the fillings out of crew and co-driver.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

The Tarmac Rally coilover is purpose-tuned for sealed-stage rally work. The damper is built to absorb the impact of uneven pavement and the heavy jolts of big bumps, suppressing body movement rather than letting the chassis pogo over surface changes. That damper authority is what lets the tyre stay in contact with the road, which is where stage time is found.

All of the settings come directly from XYZ’s own Tarmac Rally racing programme – this is not a fast-road kit with stiffer springs dropped in. The valving, the spring rate selection, and the bump/rebound balance are calibrated for the specific demands of competitive Tarmac stages: high average speeds, repeat kerb hits, and surface transitions every few hundred metres. The result is a coilover that holds tyre traction where lesser dampers would skip, and gives the driver consistent platform feedback through long, fatiguing stages.

Fitment for the Hyundai Venue QX (2020-2026)

Built specifically for the QX-chassis Venue across the 2020 to 2026 production run. Confirm your registration year sits within that window before ordering – the QX chassis spans the full first-generation Venue and the post-facelift cars without changes to suspension geometry.
