XYZ Racing Racing Spec Coilovers — Hyundai VENUE QX 2020-2026

The Venue QX is not the obvious starting point for a circuit build, and that is precisely why the Racing Spec coilover exists for it. Hyundai’s compact crossover carries a tall body, a soft factory damper tune aimed at urban ride comfort, and a centre of gravity that does the front tyres no favours once cornering loads climb. Strip the standard struts out and the chassis underneath has more to give than the showroom brief ever asked of it.

This is the top of the XYZ Racing ladder – a coilover specified for serious track and time-attack use, derived from settings the company runs in live competition. For a Venue QX being built into something other than a school-run hatch, it is the spec that takes the platform seriously.

What this coilover does for your 2020-2026 Hyundai Venue QX

Drop the QX onto a Racing Spec setup and the first thing you notice is body control. The factory tune lets the nose pitch under braking and the rear squat under throttle; the Racing Spec damper shuts both of those motions down, so weight transfer happens at the rate you ask for rather than at the rate the springs decide. Ride height is fully adjustable, which lets you pull the high-riding QX bodyshell down into a sensible aerodynamic envelope without coil-bind or bump-stop contact. Damping and rebound logic settled through racing development means the chassis stays planted through quick direction changes – exactly where a tall compact body wants to roll, lift the inside rear, and wash the front into understeer. On corner exit, the rear axle stays loaded and the front tyres stop scrubbing for grip they were not getting.

About the Racing Spec coilover

The Racing Spec is XYZ Racing’s competition-derived damper, and the settings inside it were not arrived at on a dyno alone. The company draws on direct participation in racing series – including WTCC – to inform the valving, spring rates and rebound curves it ships with each fitment. That race-event feedback loop is the substance behind the name; this is not a rebadged street coilover with stiffer numbers. For cars running aggressive aero, big brake kits, slicks, or other A-class-style upgrades, XYZ Racing also build bespoke shock absorbers on request – the buyer supplies the upgrade list and the circuit the car will run on, and the damper is specified accordingly. For a standard-bodied Venue QX, the catalogue Racing Spec is the right starting point; for a heavily prepared build, the custom route is open.
