XYZ Racing Super Sport Coilovers — Hyundai ELANTRA SPORT 2017-2026

The AD-platform Elantra Sport arrived as Hyundai’s first proper crack at a junior sports saloon, and the chassis hardware reflected that ambition – multi-link rear, stiffer bushing, a 1.6 turbo with real intent. What it never quite got from the factory was damping to match. The standard struts run out of body control well before the limit of the front tyres, and on a B-road the nose dives under braking long before the driver has any feedback worth acting on. The Super Sport coilover is the answer to that specific problem on this specific car.

This is a fast-road kit with enough range to take an Elantra Sport to a trackday on a Saturday and back on the daily commute on Monday. 36-way damping and full ride-height adjustment give you the headroom to actually use the platform Hyundai built.

What this coilover does for your 2017-2026 Hyundai Elantra Sport

On the road, the first thing you’ll feel is the nose staying composed under hard braking – the Elantra’s front-axle dive becomes a clean, controlled load transfer rather than a lurch, which means you can trail-brake into a roundabout and the front tyres tell you what they’re doing. Mid-corner, the multi-link rear stops squatting under throttle, so the chassis rotates cleanly rather than running wide. The 36 clicks of damping let you slacken everything off for a long motorway run, then wind in compression and rebound for a track session without touching ride height. Drop the car 25-35 mm and the centre of gravity sits where the chassis engineers should have left it from the factory. Bump compliance is the headline of the Super Sport range – rough Tarmac and patched A-roads stop unsettling the car the way the OE struts do.

About the Super Sport coilover

The Super Sport sits in the middle of the XYZ Racing range and is built specifically to do away with the harshness that defines most budget coilover kits. The damper has been developed to absorb bumps and broken surfaces rather than transmit them through the chassis, which is the failure mode that puts most owners off going coilover in the first place. Ride height is fully adjustable on the body, and the 36-way damping dial covers compression and rebound together across a wide enough range that one kit can be set for daily driving, then re-clicked for weekend track use without pulling the car apart. Construction is sealed and pressurised for repeatable damping when temperatures climb during a session, and the kit is built around the specific geometry of the AD-chassis Elantra rather than being a generic spring-and-strut swap. XYZ Racing positions this kit as the choice for owners who want a genuinely usable high-performance damper that doesn’t punish them on the journey home.

Fitment for the Hyundai Elantra Sport (2017-2026)

This kit is built for the AD-platform Elantra Sport (chassis code HY31), covering the 1.6 T-GDi Sport trim from 2017 through to the run-out of the generation in 2026. It is a direct-fit replacement for the OE struts and rear damper units – no chassis modification required.
