XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Ford MUSTANG (Rear Lower Mount Bolt Distance 75mm) 2015-2026

The S550 and S650 Mustang arrived with independent rear suspension for the first time in the nameplate’s history, and on a rough sealed stage that IRS geometry is exactly what you want to exploit – provided the dampers can survive the abuse. The XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally coilover is built for that brief: keeping a 1.7-tonne front-engined V8 settled when the surface stops being smooth and the pace stays high.

This is not a fast-road kit pressed into rally duty. It is the spec XYZ developed from its own tarmac rally programme, sized specifically for the Mustang’s 75mm rear lower mount bolt distance so the rear-end geometry stays correct on a chassis with notoriously fussy rear toe behaviour under load.

What this coilover does for your 2015-2026 Ford Mustang

A rally-rate Mustang lives or dies on rebound control. Get a wheel airborne over a compression and the next thing the damper has to do is put the tyre back on the road without skipping the car sideways – and that is where the Tarmac Rally damping is calibrated to work. You get genuine bump absorption over expansion joints, kerbs and patched tarmac instead of the harsh secondary ride a track coilover delivers on a real road. The kit suppresses body shock through repeat hits, which on the long-bonneted Mustang translates directly into front-axle confidence under trail-braking into a tightening corner. Traction at the driven rear axle improves because the contact patch stays loaded between events rather than pattering off the surface. The result is a Mustang you can carry pace in when the road is broken, not just when it is glass-smooth.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

The Tarmac Rally is XYZ’s sealed-stage rally damper, with settings drawn directly from the team’s own tarmac rally racing experience. The brief is uneven pavement at speed: absorbing the impact of big bumps without unloading the chassis, suppressing body shock so the car stays composed across successive hits, and holding the tyre against the road to keep traction available when you need it on corner exit. The construction targets durability over a stage rather than the lap-time-focused stiffness of a circuit coilover, and the damping curve is shaped around vehicle stability under the kind of abuse a road-rally surface delivers. Spring rates and valving are matched to the chassis it ships for – in this case the IRS-equipped Mustang with the 75mm rear lower bolt spacing – rather than a generic catalogue rate.

Fitment for the Ford Mustang (2015-2026)

This kit is built for the S550 and S650 Mustang chassis (FO15-1) covering the 2015 to 2026 model years, specifically the variant with a 75mm rear lower mount bolt distance. Confirm the rear lower bolt-hole spacing on your car before ordering – Ford ran more than one rear lower mount specification across this generation, and the wrong spacing will not bolt up.
