XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Ford FOCUS MK4 HATCHBACK (Rear Twist-beam Suspension) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2019-2026

The Mk4 Focus hatch is the last of the genuinely fun Ford C-segment cars, and on a sealed stage it has one structural quirk worth solving: the non-ST trims sit on a rear twist-beam rather than the multi-link Ford reserved for the ST and RS. That layout is light and cheap to package, but it punishes a poorly damped car over kerbs and mid-corner ripples in a way an independent rear simply does not. The XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally coilover for the 2019-2026 FO23-C Focus is built specifically for that chassis behaviour.

This kit also ships with the cancellation harness for the factory CCD electronic damping module, so cars optioned with adaptive shocks bolt straight on without a dash light or a limp-home fault. It is the Tarmac Rally spec from XYZ Racing’s competition catalogue, not a road coilover with a stickier badge.

What this coilover does for your 2019-2026 Ford Focus Mk4 Hatchback

Drop a Tarmac Rally damper into a twist-beam Focus and the first thing you notice is how the rear axle stops skipping. Mid-corner road scars and stage patches that used to unload the inside rear get absorbed instead of bouncing the car off line, which means you can stay on the throttle through a compression you previously had to lift for. The valving is built to soak big single hits – kerbs, drain covers, broken tarmac at the apex – while still controlling the body well enough to load the front tyres on turn-in.

On a fast B-road, that translates to a Focus that feels planted in a way the standard car never quite does on broken surfaces. The electronic damping cancellation kit keeps the dash clean on CCD-equipped cars, so the upgrade is invisible to the rest of the vehicle.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

XYZ Racing builds the Tarmac Rally specifically for sealed-stage competition use, and the brief shows in the valving philosophy. It is engineered to absorb the impact of uneven pavement and to swallow the jolt when the car lands a big bump, suppressing body shock so the contact patch stays loaded and tyre traction holds through the hit. Every setting in the kit – spring rate, damper curve, bump and rebound bias – comes directly from XYZ Racing’s own Tarmac Rally programme rather than being a reskin of a road coilover.

That focus matters on the Mk4 because a stage-tuned damper has to do two contradictory things at once: control a body that wants to roll on softer rally springs, and still let the suspension travel far enough to keep tyres on a broken surface. The Tarmac Rally curve is set up for exactly that compromise. The cancellation harness in the kit number FO23-C handles the CCD signal, so the install is a true plug-and-play job on cars fitted with electronic damping from the factory.

Fitment for the Ford Focus Mk4 Hatchback (2019-2026)

This kit is the FO23-C variant of the Tarmac Rally for the Mk4 Focus hatchback, covering 2019-2026 production. It is the specific build for cars on the twist-beam rear axle, and it includes the cancellation kit for the factory electronic damping module – so it suits both standard passive cars and CCD-equipped Mk4 hatch trims.
