XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Ferrari F430 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2005-2009

The F430 was never built with loose surfaces in mind. Its mid-mounted 4.3-litre V8, magnetorheological dampers and aluminium spaceframe were engineered for smooth circuits and Italian B-roads – which is exactly the problem the moment an owner decides to take a 430 stage rallying, hill-climbing on gravel, or running it in a historic-style road event where the surface stops being tarmac. This XYZ Racing Gravel Rally coilover kit for the 2005-2009 Ferrari F430 (chassis FE02-C) exists for that owner.

It is supplied with the cancellation hardware needed to decommission the factory SCM (Skyhook Control Magnetorheological) electronic damping, so the car’s ECU stops looking for a signal it will never receive. What replaces it is a long-travel, inverted-strut, manually adjustable damper built to absorb the abuse the F430’s standard suspension was never asked to handle.

What this coilover does for your 2005-2009 Ferrari F430

Rally surfaces punish suspension in a way that exposes every weakness of a road-spec damper – the F430’s standard setup runs out of stroke long before the chassis runs out of grip on gravel. The long-stroke design here gives the wheel somewhere to go when it falls into a rut or comes off the crest of a jump, so the contact patch stays loaded instead of skipping. Spring rates have been set by XYZ Racing’s rally programme rather than carried over from a circuit kit, which means the F430 sits at a height that clears stage debris and still controls the considerable mid-engine yaw inertia under trail-braking. The inverted-tube construction puts the heavier, fixed-body half of the damper at the top, reducing unsprung mass at the wheel – a meaningful gain on a car whose 19-inch forged rims and carbon-ceramic option already sit at the limit of what a rally surface will tolerate.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

This is a dedicated rally-cross and gravel-stage damper, not a softened circuit coilover. XYZ Racing developed the inverted-tube architecture specifically for surfaces that change from sandstone to silt to wet snow inside a single stage, where a conventional damper either packs down or runs out of rebound control. The long stroke and long-free-length springs work together to absorb chassis vibration from washboard sections, soak up high-speed compressions over jumps, and resist bottoming under the lateral G that a mid-engined car generates when it turns in on loose surface. Every spring rate in the range has been tested on stage by XYZ Racing’s rally teams, so the kit arrives with a baseline a sensible service crew can work from rather than a blank sheet. The cancellation harness handles the F430-specific job of muting the SCM dash warning and the adaptive-damping fault codes that would otherwise trip the moment the original struts come out.

Fitment for the Ferrari F430 (2005-2009)

Built for the 2005-2009 Ferrari F430, chassis code FE02-C. This is the cancellation-kit variant – it ships with the electronic-damping decommission hardware required for cars that left the factory with the SCM magnetorheological suspension option, which covers the bulk of the 430 production run.

Pick your spring rates and ride-height spec below, and the configurator will build the FE02-C-correct kit with the SCM cancellation hardware included.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
